Vintage Myth - A torn seam equals a lost cause.
Another day, Another Dollar was once said and represents how the past week has felt. Working on my sketch book but the beginnings of workings with Ceramics!! As the first part of the course winds to a sudden close I begin to evaluate my progress from where I began 3 weeks ago to where I am now. I have completed my final design work and displayed the progression and have began constructing my final ceramic piece!
Working with Ceramics was harder than I thought and began wondering and dwindling in my thoughts into how I was going to get through the phase of 'Dannn, I'm not very good at this, can I sit this one out.' I had to do it and move forward with encouraging the clay to work with me and not against me. Life goes on and I persevered with the clay and ended up using the moulds to create a progressive piece of work. I realized that there is a fine line with clay, it can easily be too wet or too dry and finding the balance is hard but easy to rectify. Overall I am enjoying working with clay and finding it a useful material to work with.
Let's just hope it doesn't explode in the Kiln!!
Vintage...
Vintage is a way of expressing yourself through recycling old goodies and transforming them into something new. (Up cycling). Vintage is seemingly determined through the age of an object, being that of 20 years old, but I feel other factors make something vintage rather than labelling everything of that era and generation 'vintage'. The term is so widely used in today's society and is seem to be processed against everyone and everything.
Personal life...
My brother and sister are both settling into Uni life and enjoying themselves and am glad that this has worked for them!!
